My favorite path through the adult portion of the game is: hookshot, Ice Cavern, first half of Water Temple up to longshot (don't need bow for first 4 keys), Gerudo Fortress, Haunted Wasteland without lens of truth so I can get the Requiem of Spirit, Forest Temple, Spirit Temple, finish the Water Temple, Fire Temple, Shadow Temple, Bottom of the Well, Ganon's Castle. I do the game out of order all the time- the freedom is practically half the reason I play Ocarina of Time so much. I'm gonna do that for my next runthrough of this game, it looks pretty exciting. This means you can do some incredibly out-of-order runs like Water - Forest - Spirit - Fire - Shadow. The shadow temple cutscene will not start until you've beaten the forest, fire and water temples. Although it looks like you need the hover boots, the haunted wasteland chasm can be crossed with the longshot.

The spirit temple requires the longshot and the ability to go back in time, so you have to beat the water and forest temples beforehand. The forest, fire and water temples can be beaten in any order, but without the bow I think you miss either the dungeon map or the compass in the fire temple and you have to be incredibly careful with keys in the water dungeon and make some fun jumps.

There's actually a lot of freedom when it comes to dungeon order, even if you always complete a dungeon once you start it (so no going to a dungeon and getting the item and then going to another dungeon) and don't abuse glitches.
